For every product I review, I want to assure readers that I actually use the item in my daily life!
Parents, meet the Momcozy 2-In-1 Hip Seat Baby Carrier. As a mom of six, I have tried many carriers, and fallen truly, madly, and deeply in love with some. However, inevitably, I’ll get burned, and the carrier will eventually break my heart, because my baby outgrows it, or I run into a functional problem that makes its continued use impractical.
Not this carrier.
The Momcozy 2-In-1 Hip Seat Baby Carrier literally restored my faith in being able to rely on one carrier to meet all of my needs.
The sturdy, innovative design can be used as a hip ledge-style carrier (c’mon, you’ve totally wanted to try it!) or a traditional carrier. Baby can be worn multiple ways, including facing in and out, and worn on your back.
Consider that the Momcozy 2-In-1 Hip Seat Baby Carrier solves the following problems:
Problem #1: Where do I put my stuff? Unlike my past wrap carriers and structured versions, this one features several pockets to tote your phone, wallet, keys, a diaper, lip balm, some change your preschooler found on the ground, etc. This is genius since it’s a lot to carry baby and a diaper bag or purse. Like, can I strap anything else to my person right now?! Now I don’t have to.
Problem #2: The short lifespan of infant carriers. Other carriers I’ve tried are better suited to an infant under 6 months, and end up joining the sad pile of baby things I wish had a longer lifespan. Thus, the ability to tote a bigger baby is a huge benefit of this carrier (pun intended). The Momcozy 2-In-1 Hip Seat Baby Carrier is suitable for up to 36 months, and 44 pounds.
Problem #3: My aching back! This carrier offers better support and comfort. Period. When using the carrier in the traditional fashion, you basically zip and button the structured part onto the hip ledge, so the baby is more secure, and my back and hips don’t bear as much of his weight. Or, use just the hip ledge. Either way, there’s more support for an active baby careening into toddlerhood waaay too fast. Sniff.
Problem #4: Buckles, and zippers, and snaps, oh my! One of the best features of this carrier is the heavy-duty velcro strap that secures the thick band around your waist (you can also use a buckle for added security). It’s so smart and simple. I’m saying goodbye to multiple buckles and snaps that get twisted, while my baby fusses and my anxiety skyrockets before I have even started my errands!
Problem #5: Storage. The Momcozy 2-In-1 Hip Seat Baby Carrier offers its own storage solution. The hip carrier has a zipper pouch that you can fold the structured carrier right into, so it’s accessible whenever you need it (rather than having separate pieces that you may forget at home, or need to carry separately).
I do want to point out one drawback of the system, which is that the product states it should be hand washed, and does not go in the washing machine. Not great, since spit up and diaper explosions happen.
Here’s calling on every baby product manufacturer to make only machine-washable items, including high chair covers, pack ‘n play mattresses—yeah, everything!
